Aristotle's Canopy - 64" x 72" 2004 sold
The stylized letters form a canopy of tree branches that can also be read by the viewer. The letter/blocks spell out, “In all things of Nature there is something of the marvelous. Aristotle.” The blue sky squares are the spaces in between the words. The quilt stands on it’s own as an abstract study, but also intrigues with the secret message from Aristotle about nature.
Exhibited at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, 2005, and at the Arroyo Arts Collective Discovery Art Tour, 2005.
